1. Safari options

We have shown some of our frequently requested safaris. The published itinerary can also be adjusted to suit your needs and preferences. Should you wish to design your own safari program, our safari representatives will be more than happy to help you customize your own safari.

2. Accommodations

The standard pricing policy is of two people sharing a double/twin room. However, single rooms are also available at supplementary costs. Wherever possible we book rooms with private baths throughout the safari (except on budget camping). However, Target Safaris can neither guarantee rooms with private baths as some rooms in Tree hotels do not have private bathrooms.

3. Transportation

Transportation depends on the itinerary route but is usually by safari minibus with pop-up roofs, large windows and English speaking driver-guide. Each client is guaranteed window seats allowing each one of you a perfect view and a great photographic corner.

4. Price

All prices are net and non-commissionable.
Prices are quoted in Dollars and include:
-Full-board accommodation on two-people sharing basis.
-Triple room where requested will be given.
-Airport transfer, from and back.
-Full-time English-speaking safari guide.
-All transport as per itinerary in safari van/cruiser.
-Campsite fees for camping safaris.
-Park fees (also payable directly at park entrance gates).
Price does not include:

-Medical insurance.
-Flying doctor service for emergency evacuation.
-Optional excursions.
-Drinks, tips, phone calls, laundry.

5. Price Validity

Prices are valid for the specified time but are subject to change without notice in case of Government action; increase in hotel tax or V.A.T. Prices are marked on the today-exchange rate at the time of publication and may be affected in case of major variation in exchange rates.

6. Reservations

Upon reservations, the following shall apply:
- A minimum deposit of 20% is required for booking outside 90 days.
- A minimum deposit of 50% is required for bookings within 45 days.
- Children (below 12 years), sharing with parents will be required to pay 55% of the full price.
- The balance to be cleared in a minimum of 30 days before arrival.
Until Target Safaris receives the advance (deposit) payment, there shall be no binding contract. Failure to remit deposit on time may result in an automatic change of status of any confirmed space to provisional basis and possible inability to reinstate your reservation. Upon receipt of advance payments, Target Safaris will assign a booking reference number on your original invoice. This reference number shall be deemed to constitute acceptance and confirmation of your booking.

7. Payments

Payments can be made by one of the following methods:
- Direct bank transfer.
- Credit card (Master card, Visa, American Express and JCB).
***Please note: all payments made by credit card incur an additional 5% surcharge, local bank processing fee.

8. Cancellation

Hotels demand cancellation fees once we book your rooms with them. The charges for cancellation of bookings shall be applied as follows: Beyond 60 days: charge 10%, refund 90%. Bookings amended/cancelled above 30 days but less than 60 days: cancellation charge 20%: refund 80%. If cancelled within 30 days but more than 14 days: charge 40%: refund 60%. Cancellation within 10-15 days: charge: 80%.Refund 20%. 0-5 days: 100%. charge.

9. Non payment by date of commencement of services

In the event that Target Safaris has not received payment in full by the date of commencement of services, the company reserves the right to withhold all or any of the services. The company shall be entitled to collect the outstanding payments from the client and to recover from the organizer all cancellation fees as stipulated in paragraph (8). The company shall not be required to notify the client that all or part of the services shall be withheld prior to the date of commencement.

10. Security

Urban areas in Kenya as do other parts of the world have a degree of crimes, the commonest being petty thefts. The following precautionary measures are highly recommended to ensure your own safety and the safety of your property. - Safe deposits. Large sums of money or travelers checks should not be carried about. Consider utilizing safe deposits available in your hotels. - Be aware of petty conmen within the cities who may request small sums of money for weird reasons. They are to be ignored. - Walking along the dark streets in major towns is a risk. Included in the petty crimes is theft of jewels such as gold chains, bungles or earrings, purse etc. Avoid walking along dark streets.

11. Insurance

Each expedition carries with it an element of personal risk that is hazardous in nature. Members in such an expedition must accept this risk. Target Safaris recommends taking out an insurance policy to cover personal accidents and medical expenses. This can be arranged on request.

12. Liability

Great effort and care shall be taken for the safety and security of your luggage, however Target Safaris shall not be held liable for any loss or damage to such items. Target Safaris draws your attention to the fact that there are certain inherent risks involved in participating in the type of trips sold. Should you wish to take part in them, and you are free to do so, Target Safaris cannot assume responsibility for your safety. Some regions and roads may be lacking in facilities for emergency evacuations. As such, safaris are booked on the agreement that you understand and accept such lack of facilities for rapid evacuations. You will therefore be required to sign a release form to acknowledge this warning and to also release and hold harmless Target Safaris from any damages that may result there from.
It’s your responsibility to take all appropriate medical advice prior to departure as to whether you are fit enough to undertake the trip booked. Target Safaris shall not be held liable for loss, illness, injury, accident, damage, death, or delay to persons due to sickness, pilferage, government restrain or weather changes. We shall not be liable for loss of property due to any act of or default of any hotel, carrier, restaurant, company, or agents rendering any of the services included in the itinerary which is not due to gross negligence of Target Safaris, its officers, employees, authorized representatives or agents. In case of any unforeseen circumstances, Target Safaris reserves the right to cancel or change itineraries or substitute services without notice or decline to accept or retain any tour members at any given time.
